The Japanese Way of Tea (chado)
Eine sehr informative Seite von Meister Ryofu Pussel zum Teeweg.

Ryofu hat auch Bücher geschrieben, die ich empfehlen kann.
The Way of Tea is the appropriate translation for chadō; indeed, cha means tea, and dō means way. Sometimes instead of chadō, the term chanoyu is used, which is rather not translatable, but it does consist of the syllables of cha = tea, yu = hot water, and no = of whom or for whom, so chanoyu literally means hot water for tea. Such a plain term for such an elaborate art form should ‘ring the bell’ in any Buddhist, and indeed in was the founder of the Way of Tea, Sen Rikyū, who answered, when asked about how to excel in practicing the Way of Tea: ‘Just heat water, prepare tea, and drink’. This ‘just’ shows similarities and parallels to Buddhism, for example, Hōnen’s and Shinran’s ‘just say Namu Amida Butsu’ and Dōgen Zenji’s shikantaza, ‘just sitting’-zazen.
